I fell in love with a star

On a lonely night
with silence by my side
I saw a little star
falling from the sky,
it was so sad
and so bright
that unknowingly
I fell for its light

The star was losing its shine
on the floor,
muddy from feelings unknown
and I couldn't resist myself
from embracing it with my hands
and comforting it with all my heart
"Don't be sad, little star
soon you'll fly back home,
back to your loved ones"

so brightly again he would shine
and then he took off without a goodbye
and left my empty shell behind

I look at the sky
searching my little star
it is so bright

and touch it,
but I know I'd surely burn
